'Maranao Food Recipe || Piaren a S\'da  Piaren a S\'da is a Maranao dish. The main ingredient is S\'da or fish cooked in palapa paste (sakurab+ginger+chilis) and turmeric over low heat.  This recipe is cooked in two ways; one is this I\'m showing in this video. I pre-mixed the fish, palapa paste, salt & pepper and turmeric and marinate for at least 10 minutes. Then I sauteed the vegetables (onion, spring onion and bell pepper) to release the aroma before I added the marinated fish.   The other way to cook this recipe is skipping the marinating and sautéing process, just put everything in a cooking pot, drizzle some oil then cook for 10-15 minutes.  One thing notable in this recipe is that either way you cook it, you do not need to add water on it, the water will come naturally from all the ingredients but make sure to set the fire at low heat to avoid burning. It\'s done when it\'s almost dry.  ------------------------------------------------ Who are the Maranaos?   The Maranao inhabit Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur in Mindanao. The name Maranao translates to mean “People of the Lake”, after their traditional territory in the area surrounding Lake Lanao in the Bukidnon-Lanao Plateau.
